12-month annual sea surface temperature curves across all 9 surveyed coastlines in Poland. Data queried directly from NOAA OISST v2.1 1991–2020 0.25° grid climatology.
Notice: 30-year historical climatological monthly mean (1991–2020), not a live single-day sensor forecast.
The Baltic Sea is a shallow, brackish semi-enclosed basin with low salinity (fed by large river basins) and restricted ocean exchange through the Danish Straits. This causes the widest annual water temperature swing in Europe: warming rapidly from 9.4°C in May to 18.6°C in August, then cooling quickly down to 2–4°C in winter.
